The Showerhead SP transforms ordinary tap water into functional water - clean, conditioned and highly pressurised.
With the Pod System Adaptor now built in, it seamlessly integrates with the ECOHEADS System, creating the ideal foundation for every salon service that follows.
2× water pressure: Save up to 4mins per colour client.2
Up to 69% less water usage with the high-pressure plate.1
Around $2,000 saved in water and energy costs per basin per year.3
What’s new for The Showerhead SP
The Showerhead X established that functional water transforms salon performance. The Showerhead SP makes The System complete.
System built in: Pod System Adaptor (PSA) now integrated into the Showerhead. One unit. One system.
Ergonomic design: New grip lines and enhanced dots for improved aesthetics and ease of handling.
Dual plates: Two interchangeable plates: 394 holes (standard) and 315 (high pressure). Where more pressure is required, use the high-pressure plate. Up to 69% less water usage with the high-pressure plate.1
Filtration upgrade: New KDF balls – no filter replacement required. Reduces chlorine and heavy metals by up to 90%.
HIGH PRESSURE ENGINEERING – WHY IT MATTERS
The Lenard Effect is a naturally occurring phenomenon — first identified by physicist Philipp Lenard — created when moving water collides, shears and fractures under pressure. It's the same effect you feel standing near a waterfall or crashing waves.
The Plate in the Showerhead SP is designed to recreate the Lenard effect at the basin. Its precision-engineered holes force the water to accelerate through narrow channels and fragment into an ultra-fine mist generating negative ions, which are known to neutralise static, smooth the cuticle and improve moisture retention.

FAQS
I already have a Showerhead X. Should I move to the SP?
The Showerhead SP is the newest model in the range and builds on the trusted performance of the Showerhead X, introducing new features designed to give salons even more control, convenience, and performance at the basin.
While both showerheads transform ordinary tap water into clean, functional water, the SP adds enhanced filtration, an additional high-pressure plate option, and integrated compatibility with The System through its built-in Pod System Adaptor (PSA).
The Showerhead SP may be the right choice if you:
- Want additional filtration to help reduce chlorine and heavy metals.
- Would benefit from a higher-pressure spray option for your basin setup.
- Use, or plan to use, The System and want everything integrated into a single solution.
- Are looking for the latest ECOHEADS innovations and functionality.
The good news is that installation, maintenance, and daily use remain the same, so moving to the SP is simple and seamless for your team.
How much water does The Showerhead SP save?
The saving depends on which plate is fitted to the Showerhead SP:
- High-pressure plate: the certified flow rate is 4.76 LPM, saving up to 69%, or around 50 litres of water per colour client and 500 litres per basin per day across 10 colour clients.
- Standard plate: the certified flow rate is 5.30 LPM, saving up to 65%, or around 49 litres per colour client and 490 litres per basin per day across 10 colour clients.
Savings are against old unregulated salon taps (15.7 LPM baseline).
If the flow rate is lower, why does rinsing take less time?
Lower flow and faster rinsing are not a contradiction. The standard plate has 394 precision-engineered holes that restrict the flow while raising the velocity of the water and concentrating the spray.
A narrower, faster stream lifts colour and shampoo out of the hair more efficiently than a slow, wide one, so you use less water and spend less time at the basin.
What sources back up the water-saving claims?
Four sources back up the water-saving claims:
- The flow rates are independently certified to AS/NZS 3662 by an ILAC accredited laboratory: Showerhead X at 5.39 LPM, and The Showerhead SP at 5.30 LPM on the standard plate and 4.76 LPM on the high-pressure plate.
- The industry baseline of 10 LPM comes from the L'Oreal and Droople IoT study of 15 French salons, 2021.
- The 15.7 LPM figure is the old salon showerhead standard, from before water-saving standards existed.
- Rinse times are measured in salon conditions: a colour rinse takes 6 minutes on a standard tap and around 2 minutes on an ECOHEADS Showerhead.
The energy figure is a conversion rather than a claim: every litre of hot water saved avoids about 0.033 kWh of the energy used to heat it. Energy savings calculated assuming 100% hot water; actual savings will vary based on water temperature mix.
What is the difference between the standard plate and the high-pressure plate?
The Showerhead SP ships with two interchangeable plates. With the standard plate it is certified at 5.30 LPM through 394 precision-engineered holes. With the high-pressure plate it is certified at 4.76 LPM through 315 precision-engineered holes.
Fewer holes means the water leaves faster, so the high-pressure plate gives a firmer spray with less water used. More pressure at the basin, not more water.
If you need more pressure at the basin, fit the high-pressure plate.
What is the KDF filtration in The Showerhead SP?
KDF filtration is part of what makes the Showerhead SP unique. An advanced water filtration technology built into the Showerhead SP, it helps reduce up to 90% of chlorine and up to 90% of heavy metals from the water before it reaches the hair.
The result is cleaner, more functional water that helps create the ideal foundation for salon services and healthier-looking hair.
Unlike many traditional filters, KDF filtration continues to perform effectively in hot water, making it well suited to the demands of a busy salon environment. It is also designed to last the life of the showerhead, with no replacement filters required.
